Hi, I'm Max

I'm an actor who sings, and might dance for you if you give me some notice. I was born and raised in a small town known as Kirksville, Missouri. If you've ever heard of it, let me know. That would be super weird and cool!

The first play I remember seeing was some vaudevillian comedy performed in an old converted cattle auction barn next to my grandparents' house. I spent days when I was a kid playing, pretending, and building worlds with my Nana in that space. To this day I still love that a show can happen in any place, as long as there are people to make it happen. By the time I was ten I started acting in plays at a local Repertory Theatre and I have been working with the craft ever since.

To me theatre, film, art as a whole, is a foundation of our society. I believe that without storytelling our communities would struggle to effectively work with, and relate to one another. I enjoy psychologically exploring characters and stories, and putting them together like a puzzle before letting audiences take from them what they need. I hope to peak curiosity in people and leave them examining the world around them in a new way.

I graduated from Truman State University (2020) with a BA degree in Theatre (Acting focus) and a minor in Music (Vocal Performance). I also attended the American Theatre Wing's Springboard Program (Musical Theatre), and was an Acting Apprentice at the Williamstown Theatre Festival (2019). For the last five years I have been working throughout NYC both as an actor and bartender.

I currently reside in the East Village with my boyfriend, Brandon, an entourage of house plants, and a libraries worth of books.

P.S. I am a huge nerd. If you gave me enough time I could probably name every single Pokemon. A skill that is probably pointlessly fascinating, but at least somewhat entertaining.
